It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Petaluma Trojans can now relate to. They took a 24-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maria Carrillo on Friday. Petaluma just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Petaluma lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chase Miller. Despite the final result, he rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Miller was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
Petaluma's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Maria Carrillo, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Petaluma does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Maria Carrillo will head out on the road to face off against San Marin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in San Marin's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Maria Carrillo has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
