Basketball Recap: Keys Gate's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

McArthur came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Keys Gate, but Terrance Shannon Jr wouldn't allow it. The Keys Gate Knights came out on top against the McArthur Mustangs by a score of 58-48 on Saturday thanks in part to Shannon Jr, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game.

With the win, Keys Gate broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-5. As for McArthur, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Keys Gate and Somerset Academy South Homestead will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 8th. Keys Gate has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for McArthur, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pembroke Pines Charter at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th. One thing working in Pembroke Pines Charter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.
