Baseball Recap: Bothell Wins Going Away Against Mercer Island

Bothell barely beat Mercer Island the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Islanders on Monday. Considering the Cougars have won six games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jarrett Tyler spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Teyton Hardeman was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Skinner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Bothell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Bothell's record is now 9-6. As for Mercer Island, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Coming up, Bothell is taking a road trip to square off against Skyline at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mercer Island, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Redmond at 6:00 p.m. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Islanders surely won't give up without a fight.
