Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way West entered their tilt with Oswego East on Saturday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp  12-6 win. Considering the Warriors have won 14 games by more than five  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Conor Essenburg was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Carson Paulas, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  runs and one  RBI.
 Lincoln-Way West's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 26-7. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Plainfield North, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-11.
 Plainfield North might still be hurting after the  10-0 loss they got from Lincoln-Way West  when the teams last played  back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
