Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fulshear). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Alief Hastings a 17-0 shutout on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Chargers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Brinley Jones made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Ava Galaviz was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Ava Callahan was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI.
Fulshear always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .875. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.
Fulshear pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Alief Elsik, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alief Elsik hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .471. However, it's not like Fulshear struggles in that department as they've averaged .396. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
