The Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 59-48 to Ezell-Harding Christian. While losing is never fun, Mount Juliet Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Ezell-Harding Christian is ranked 105th).
Several Saints players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Frewin, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Cartwright, who scored 12 points.
Mount Juliet Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Ezell-Harding Christian was led to victory by Blake Dean and MJ Gibbs. Dean scored 19 points, while Gibbs scored 24 points. Dean is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Mount Juliet Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-6.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Donelson Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Ezell-Harding Christian will head out to face Donelson Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Mount Juliet Christian Academy will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
