The Brandon Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Petal Panthers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Brandon managed a 57-52 victory over Petal. The win made it back-to-back wins for Brandon.
Leading Brandon to victory were Braylon Barnes and Nate White. Barnes scored 15 points along with five rebounds, while White dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Barnes' 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ottis Harrison, who scored six points along with three steals.
Brandon's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. As for Petal, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brandon will face off against Pearl at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pearl knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Brandon likes a good challenge. As for Petal, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwest Rankin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Rankin is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
