The Columbia Central Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Blackman Blaze at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia Central will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Tuesday, Columbia Central took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 83-24 win over Hillwood. With that victory, Columbia Central brought their scoring average up to 51.2 points per game.
Columbia Central relied on the efforts of Kiyanah Edwards, who scored 18 points along with 6 steals, and Saviya Morgan, who scored 19 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. Edwards continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tionna Davis, who scored 9 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Blackman didn't have too much trouble with Beech on the road last Tuesday as they won 62-45.
Columbia Central pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Blackman, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Columbia Central took a serious blow against Blackman in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 68-40. Can Columbia Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
