Live Oak faced Dutchtown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Griffins. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Griffins last Thursday, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Live Oak has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Dutchtown, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 25-13 record.

Looking ahead, Live Oak will head out to face off against French Settlement at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Dutchtown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
