There's no place like home for the Norton Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against Streetsboro by a score of 48-40 on Tuesday. This was payback for Norton, who suffered a 45-38 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Streetsboro still got an impressive performance from Naomi Benson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Benson hasn't dropped below 15points for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Kassan, who scored seven points.
Norton's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.9 points per game. As for Streetsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norton will face off against Woodridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Streetsboro, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Vincent-St. Mary at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. Vincent-St. Mary presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Streetsboro in Ohio (St. Vincent-St. Mary is ranked fourth, while Streetsboro is ranked 129th).
