LOOMIS, Calif. -
Bakersfield (Calif.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Asauni Rufus ran for a touchdown with with under a minute left in the first quarter, bringing the team to victory over Del Oro (Loomis, Calif.) 56-26.
After taking the lead on an Rufus touchdown run in the first quarter, the Drillers led 29-16 at the half.
Bakersfield expanded its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Jeremiah Reddick touchdown run.
The loss snapped Del Oro's 12-game winning streak.
Coleman Olivas stood out for the Drillers in the win. He kicked eight extra points. He has now scored two touchdowns on the season.
The loss comes after Del Oro defeated Serra 28-20 last week.
