Pocomoke and Crisfield are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Pocomoke Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Crisfield Crabbers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pocomoke has three straight wins, Crisfield has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Washington scored an imposing 57 points on Monday, Pocomoke still came out on top. Pocomoke took their matchup against Washington 64-57.
Pocomoke found their leader in underclassman Michael Ames, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The match was Ames' third in a row with at least ten points. Zymiere Walker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Crisfield couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kent County.
Pocomoke's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-0. As for Crisfield, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.
Everything came up roses for Pocomoke against Crisfield when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 81-35 win. With Pocomoke ahead 44-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.
