The Chireno Owls lost against the Joaquin Rams back in February of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Chireno fell just short of Joaquin by a score of 45-42. Chireno has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Joaquin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ellie Anglin, who scored 16 points. The matchup was Anglin's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariya Wilson, who scored 12 points.
Chireno has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Joaquin, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Chireno's road trip will continue as they head out to face Broaddus at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Joaquin, they will be playing at home against Shelbyville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
