Basketball Recap: Battle Piles Up the Points Against Parkway Central

Battle's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They breezed by the Parkway Central Colts to the tune of 83-46. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.

Battle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cha'Ion Crump led the charge by going 7 of 9 on his way to 21 points. Crump is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Tyler Putnam was another key player, going 7 for 10 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

Battle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Battle is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Parkway Central, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Battle will square off against Rolla at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Parkway Central, they will head out to face off against Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
