The Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Elba for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-28 win at home. With Heartland Lutheran ahead 31-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heartland Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brielle Saddler, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Ella Francl was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Elba's loss came despite strong showings from Addison Wysocki and JarahLynn Morrow. Wysocki scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks, while Morrow scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Wysocki has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played.
The win makes it two in a row for Heartland Lutheran and bumps their season record up to 7-11. As for Elba, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heartland Lutheran will challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Palmer is ranked 261st, while the Red Hornets are ranked 250th). Elba's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
