The St. Agnes Academy Stars have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell just short of Middle College by a score of 40-38.
Middle College's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiya Mell , who scored nine points along with seven steals. Mell is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Gabrielle Rudd was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.
St. Agnes Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Middle College, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
After both having extra time off, St. Agnes Academy and St. George's will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Middle College will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fayette Ware at 4:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
