Bridgeport Central has not had much luck with the Wreckers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Staples found their leader in underclassman Sam Clachko, who scored 19 points along with five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Mason Tobias, who scored 15 points.
Bridgeport Central's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-11. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Staples, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
