Camas County has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Victory Charter Vipers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Camas County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Victory Charter likes a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Camas County gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 80-53 victory over Dietrich. Given Camas County's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Dietrich is ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Camas County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmett Palan, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. Palan is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 23 or more in the last three games he's played. Troy Smith was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Victory Charter waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Vision 59-41.
Camas County's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points per game. As for Victory Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Camas County came up short against Victory Charter in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 59-54. Can Camas County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
