Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Bishop Moore Hornets walked away with it. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 73-61 on Tuesday. Given Bishop Moore's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Mulberry is ranked 460th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Bishop Moore to victory were Cameron Codio and Justin Suarez. Codio scored 21 points along with eight rebounds, while Suarez scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Suarez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Dadlani, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Bishop Moore has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Mulberry, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.
Bishop Moore's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lake Highland Prep on February 8th. Lake Highland Prep will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Bishop Moore surely won't give up without a fight. Mulberry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
