The Jackson Red Devils couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Lamar County by a score of 2-1. Jackson was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lamar County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

The win got Lamar County back to even at 1-1.
Jackson will be playing in front of their home fans against Jones County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lamar County, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 6-0 defeat vs. Northside on the 10th.
