It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Purvis had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Raymond Rangers a 9-0 shutout. The Tornadoes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by five goals or more this season.

The win (which was Purvis' third in a row) raised their record to 7-4-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Raymond, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.
