The Southeast Golden Buffalo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of East. Southeast was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Southeast lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alana Webb. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with three steals. Webb continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ma'khiyah Jones, who scored 11 points along with two blocks.
Southeast has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for East, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Bishop Carroll the next time they take the court. Southeast will host Bishop Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while East will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
