If the KIPP Collegiate phoenix were feeling good off their 29-5 takedown of Memphis Rise Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. KIPP Collegiate was outmatched by Trezevant on the road and fell 78-11. KIPP Collegiate was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-0.
It was another big night for SHELBY GRAY, who dropped a triple-double on 28 points, ten assists, and 19 steals for Trezevant. That makes it eight consecutive games in which GRAY has scored at least a third of Trezevant's points. Another player making a difference was MARISSA WILLIAMS, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
KIPP Collegiate bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Trezevant, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.
KIPP Collegiate will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Trezevant, they will head out on the road to take on Lakeland Preparatory at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
