Basketball Recap: Jillian Barr and Addison Barnes Secure Win for Delta

With a playoff win on the line, Delta rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Hamilton Heights Huskies 63-37. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 26 points or more this season.

Delta was led to victory by Addison Barnes and Jillian Barr. Barnes went 7 for 15 on her way to 20 points in addition to six assists and three steals, while Barr went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points along with seven boards and four steals. Barr is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. Addisen Maurer also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Delta was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton Heights only posted three assists.

Despite the loss, Hamilton Heights still got an impressive performance from Katie Brown, who went 7 of 14 en route to 20 points. That was a full 54.1% of Hamilton Heights' points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Kamryn Rhoton was another key player, putting up seven points and 11 rebounds.

With the win, Delta broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-7. As for Hamilton Heights, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.

Delta will square off against Jay County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Delta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season. Hamilton Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
