After two games on the road, Deckerville is heading back home. They will take on the Mayville Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Deckerville suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 62-33 loss at the hands of Kingston. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Deckerville has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Mayville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 51-45 to Michigan Lutheran Seminary. Mayville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Deckerville has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Mayville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Deckerville strolled past Mayville in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 68-49. Will Deckerville repeat their success, or does Mayville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
