Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Centennial

Centennial extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping them up to 5-1. They were the clear victors by a 58-34 margin over the Palm Beach Lakes Rams. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 24 points or more this season.

Centennial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jailyn Williams, who made all 5 shots she took racking up 12 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Those six assists gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Parson, who posted six points along with eight rebounds and eight steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Centennial was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palm Beach Lakes only racked up seven.

As for Palm Beach Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. They have struggled against Centennial recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Palm Beach Lakes' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laniya Hall, who went 5-for-10 en route to 11 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Hall is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Auria Franck, who scored eight points and five boards.

Centennial has already played their next game, a 74-56 win against Jensen Beach on the 4th. As for Palm Beach Lakes, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-29 victory against Boca Raton on the 5th.
