Valley Forge is 0-6 against North Olmsted since March of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Patriots will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m.
Bay hit Valley Forge with a seven-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 7-6.
Caleb Scarbro and Sean Frank did some serious damage despite the final result: Scarbro went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Frank went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That RBI was Scarbro's first of the season. Nelson Cruz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, North Olmsted hadn't done well against Rocky River recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Pirates. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Pirates on their field since March 27, 2023.
Jack Burger made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, North Olmsted let Kody Schneid and Luis Bautista run wild. Schneid got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Bautista got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Bautista a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Lazar, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
North Olmsted's win bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for Valley Forge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Valley Forge came up short against North Olmsted in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 11-7. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
