After flying high against Blue Ridge last Friday, Eastside came back down to earth. The Eagles took a 48-34 bruising from the Spartanburg Vikings on Friday. Despite the loss, Eastside still got an impressive performance from Peyton Schrader, who rushed for 71 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 107 yards on seven of 14 attempts. Schrader also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making seven total tackles and defending one pass.

Even if they lost, Eastside's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Pierson Kraning with two. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another thorn in Spartanburg's side was Lucas Tankersley, who made 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Having lost for the first time this season, Eastside fell to 3-1. As for Spartanburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.
