The Leake Central Gators pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 87-69 fall against Northeast Lauderdale. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (57), Leake Central still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northeast Lauderdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremiah Clark, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and five steals. Clark has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Addison Baskin was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Leake Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Northeast Lauderdale, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
Leake Central will head out on the road to face off against Choctaw Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Newton County at 7:30 p.m. Newton County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
