Softball Recap: Celebration Beats Ridge Community for Their Third Straight Win

Celebration hadn't done well against Ridge Community recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Storm walked away with a 10-6 win over the Bolts. The victory was nothing new for the Storm as they're now sitting on three straight.

Valeria Castellano and Gigi Reyes did most of the damage at the plate: Castellano scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Reyes went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Brenna Neil was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Celebration was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Celebration's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Ridge Community, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Celebration will welcome Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridge Community, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Poinciana at 6:00 p.m.
