The third road contest was the charm for the Northfield Norsemen, as they earned their first road win of the season. They snuck past Southwood with a 47-43 win on Friday. This was payback for Northfield, who suffered a 59-39 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elli Baker, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds. The match was Baker's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaycie Krom, who scored 4 points along with 10 rebounds.
Northfield's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Southwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northfield will be home for the holidays to greet Wabash at 7:45 p.m. on December 16th. Southwood won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Eastern at 7:45 p.m. on December 9th. Eastern is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
