The Northbrook Raiders can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Milby by a score of 33-26. The victory was just what Northbrook needed coming off of a 54-12 defeat in their prior matchup.
Despite the defeat, Milby had strong showings from Nayeli Medina, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Myah Guerra, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds. Medina has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played.
Northbrook's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10. As for Milby, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Northbrook will finish 2023 at home by hosting Waller at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Waller is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. Milby will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Houston Math Science & Tech at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Houston Math Science & Tech's defense has only allowed 28.4 points per game this season, so Milby's offense will have their work cut out for Milby.
