There's no place like home for the Charles J. Colgan Sharks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Potomac Senior on Tuesday and snuck past 53-51. For Charles J. Colgan, this counts as revenge for the 40-31 loss Potomac Senior walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Brianna Long continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Charles J. Colgan's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelle Coleman, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Saliyah Freeman, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Allen, who scored ten points.
Charles J. Colgan pushed their record up to 12-9 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Potomac Senior, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charles J. Colgan will square off against Hylton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Charles J. Colgan is facing Hylton at the right time seeing as Hylton is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Potomac Senior, they will head out on the road to square off against Gar-Field at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
