Horizon Science Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of HEARTS for Jesus Christ on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Horizon Science Academy of the 64-51 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
HEARTS for Jesus Christ's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Silas Nixon led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Grady Davis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Horizon Science Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The will challenge the Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, they will head out on the road to take on Christian Community at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Community has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
