The York Cougars had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 41-37 W over Northwestern on Tuesday. The victory was just what York needed coming off of a 56-20 loss in their prior game.
York's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marisa Reyes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Cooper Green was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two blocks.
York's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9. As for Northwestern, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lancaster at 6:15 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Lancaster focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday. As for Northwestern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Pointe at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. South Pointe is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 13 games.
