The Gravette Lions will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Ozark Hillbillies at 7:00 p.m. Gravette knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Ozark likes a good challenge.
Gravette can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Green Forest 42-8 on the road. Gravette's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Gravette relied on the efforts of Kyler Austin, who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and Gabriel Holmes, who rushed for 28 yards and two touchdowns. Austin was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. Kayden Brown was another key contributor, picking up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Ozark's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were dealt a 38-0 defeat at the hands of Elkins. The low total for Ozark limited their streak of high-flying scores to four in a row.
Gravette's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points per game. As for Ozark, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Gravette has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 222.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ozark struggles in that department as they've been even better at 244.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Gravette took a serious blow against Ozark when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 42-7. Will Gravette have more luck at home instead of on the road?
