After four games on the road, Timnath is heading back home. They will take on the Wellington Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Timnath struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Indians had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Timnath fell to the Indians 51-47. Timnath has not had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Timnath's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Izzy Schimmelpfennig, who scored ten points along with six steals, and Gretchen Deines who scored 16 points along with two steals and two blocks. Schimmelpfennig is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracyn Redmon, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Wellington suffered a rough 68-43 defeat at the hands of the Beetdiggers on Friday. Wellington has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Timnath's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Wellington, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Timnath against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 73-18 win. Will Timnath repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
