Dunellen is 8-1 against Timothy Christian since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Destroyers will be playing at home against Timothy Christian at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dunellen has seven straight victories, Timothy Christian has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Dunellen didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Linden with a sharp 13-6 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Destroyers, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Ryan Hutchins and Danny Watts made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hutchins tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Watts struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. At bat, Hutchins got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs, while Watts went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Juanluis Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kristhan Roman Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Dunellen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Timothy Christian's offense. They came up short against Dunellen on Wednesday, falling 21-0.
Dunellen's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Timothy Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Dunellen took their victory against Timothy Christian in their previous meeting on Wednesday by a conclusive 21-0 score. Will the Destroyers repeat their success, or do Timothy Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
