DME Academy Gold took care of business in their home opener on Thursday (barely). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 victory over Hamilton Heights Christian Academy.
Hamilton Heights Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elivia Moore, who scored 15 points. The matchup was Moore's third in a row with at least ten points. Aisse Coulibaly was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Hamilton Heights Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
DME Academy Gold's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
DME Academy Gold does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hamilton Heights Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Murray County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Murray County will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
