The Northmont Thunderbolts will face off against the Fairmont Firebirds at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Northmont turned things around against Fairfield on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Indians. That five run margin sets a new team best for the Thunderbolts this season.

Northmont got a great performance from Kaden Nickell as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Nickell has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Drake Sauber was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since April 1st. Another player making a difference was Chase Fuduloff, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Fairmont never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Beavercreek. The Firebirds not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9th (when they won 12-1).
The result came thanks to Brayden Vance's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Tyler Mastro was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Fairmont is undefeated when Mastro posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Schyler Zent, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.
Northmont's win bumped their record up to 4-9-1. As for Fairmont, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
