Kopperl and Walnut Springs are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Kopperl Eagles will be playing at home against the Walnut Springs Hornets at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Kopperl has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
After soaring to 57 points the game before, Kopperl were a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Morgan, falling 55-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kopperl has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Walnut Springs came up short against Covington on Tuesday and fell 47-34. That's two games in a row now that Walnut Springs has lost by exactly 13 points.
Kopperl has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Walnut Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
Kopperl came up short against Walnut Springs in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 59-47. Can Kopperl avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
