California lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caden Monticelli, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Monticelli has scored all season. Jahiem Derns was another key contributor, scoring five points.
California's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Monessen, their win was their 18th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
