The Upper Merion Area Vikings will face off against the Pottsgrove Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Upper Merion Area is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Upper Merion Area had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Pottstown on Wednesday. The Vikings never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings yet this season.

The team relied heavily on John Tomsho, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Fowler, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Upper Merion Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pottsgrove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Norristown on Wednesday, sneaking past 4-3.
Luke Tyson was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Owen Mountz also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Upper Merion Area now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pottsgrove, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Pottsgrove's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Upper Merion Area has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Pottsgrove, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Upper Merion Area keep running through batters, or will the Falcons buck the trend?
Upper Merion Area was able to grind out a solid win over Pottsgrove in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 12-8. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
