The St. James Saints couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 22-21 to Chapelgate Christian Academy.
Despite the loss, St. James still got an impressive performance from Claire Barnes, who scored 14 points.
St. James' loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Chapelgate Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. James will take on Gettysburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chapelgate Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Glenelg Country at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
