The Porter Ridge Pirates can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They breezed by Weddington at home to the tune of 71-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Porter Ridge has posted since December 1, 2023.
Porter Ridge found their leader in underclassman Ashanti Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Miley Malcolm, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Weddington's loss came despite strong showings from Caroline Clark and Mia Brosterhous. Clark scored 11 points along with three steals, while Brosterhous scored six points along with five rebounds. Clark hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Ella Bergman was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Porter Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Weddington, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.
