Elizabeth Forward is a perfect 10-0 against West Mifflin since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Warriors will host the Titans at 4:15 p.m. Elizabeth Forward is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
Elizabeth Forward blew Belle Vernon out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Belle Vernon got their revenge. The Warriors fell just short of the Leopards by a score of 6-4. The match marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Addy Nigut was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
Meanwhile, West Mifflin entered their tilt with Laurel Highlands on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Mustangs.
RYLIE DOBNAK spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, West Mifflin's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was SAMANTHA TOMKO, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
West Mifflin's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Elizabeth Forward, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Elizabeth Forward has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like West Mifflin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Elizabeth Forward took their victory against West Mifflin in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
