Mountain Range extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 6-10. They lost 16-7 to the Horizon Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Noah Espinoza was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Mountain Range is 5-2 when Espinoza posts two or more runs, but 1-8 otherwise. Maceo Moore also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
As for Horizon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
On Horizon's side, Drew Williams made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave Williams a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Horizon let Eli Savage and Zac Lujan run wild. Savage went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Lujan went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Lujan a new career-high. Brayden Lopez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Range will head out to challenge Westminster at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.27 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Horizon, they will challenge Mead at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Mavericks have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
