Lely has gone 8-2 against Lehigh recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Trojans will face off against the Lightning at 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lely's offense. They lost 6-0 to Naples on Wednesday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lehigh). They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over Cypress Lake on Wednesday. The Lightning not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 4, 2025 (when they won 16-6).
Gerald Santana was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Santana was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Lehigh: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-11 otherwise.
In other batting news, Isais Alvarado was incredible, firing off two triples, three runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Bryan Fundora, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
Lehigh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Lehigh and bumps their season record up to 2-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Lely, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.
Everything went Lely's way against Lehigh in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Lely made off with a 12-2 victory. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lightning turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
