Basketball Game Preview: Lyle/Pacelli Athletics vs. LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals

Lyle/Pacelli has gone 8-2 against LeRoy-Ostrander recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics will challenge the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. Lyle/Pacelli is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Monday, Lyle/Pacelli ended up a good deal behind Schaeffer Academy and lost 88-72.

Meanwhile, LeRoy-Ostrander was able to grind out a solid victory over Lanesboro on Monday, taking the game 49-37. The Cardinals' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Lyle/Pacelli better focus on containing Camden Hungerholt and Reid Hungerholt as the pair were huge in LeRoy-Ostrander's win. Camden posted 19 points in addition to seven boards and six assists, while Reid almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Camden's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ryder Stern, who had four points and 11 rebounds.

LeRoy-Ostrander is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points over those games. Lyle/Pacelli's defeat dropped their record down to 3-23.

Things could have been worse for Lyle/Pacelli, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 87-69 loss to LeRoy-Ostrander in their previous matchup on February 3rd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hungerholt, who earned 37 points along with seven boards and six assists. Now that Lyle/Pacelli knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
