The Fort Lupton Bluedevils waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They took down Middle Park 76-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Fort Lupton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shane Callahan, who scored 26 points along with nine assists and eight steals. Callahan is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Guillaume Nkiadiambu, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds.
Middle Park's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Joey Gagnon, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, and Luke Paugh who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Marqes Pasillas was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Fort Lupton's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Middle Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
Fort Lupton will be playing at home against KIPP Denver Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. KIPP Denver Collegiate will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Fort Lupton is ranked 107th). As for Middle Park, they will head out on the road to square off against DSST: Montview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in DSST: Montview's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
